Because I Love Him

"Patience is not fatalistic, shoulder-shrugging resignation. It is the acceptance of a divine rhythm to life; it is obedience prolonged."- Elder Neal A. Maxwell
I actually came across the quote today on someone's comment on facebook. This is something I needed reminding of recently. The two things that stand out the most to me in this quote is acceptance and "obedience prolonged". I am learning more and more about God's timing. Some of the things I am learning and what I am being patient about is deeply personal, however, I want to share that I know God love us and I know He is fully aware of me and knows this desire of mine. I am so thankful to know Our God is a loving, patient, trusting, and all-knowing. I am learning He is never early or late in fulfilling His promises to us. I am choosing to remain obedient to Heavenly Father. This is something I work really hard at and is what I want to do, because I love Him. Homemade Ketchup and Elk

Today in my cooking class I made ketchup from scratch and cook elk- and ate it for the first time! The ketchup is tangy and was actually quite easy. The elk was very good. Today was the last day of my cooking class. Its a little sad its over, but I'm ready for a new semester. I've learned many things in this class- some cooking skills, but I learned some things about me- I'm braver than I thought when it comes to cooking. I am excited to continue to develop a love for cooking and being creative in the kitchen.

Happiness is in Following The Way

Today I googled the word happy. I was curious what would be in listed. Wikipedia and dictionary.com where the first two. One link I found interesting was a site called Happy News- their motto is to share positive real-world news. There was a link on how to be happy. And one of the top links was happymeal.com a site sponsored by McDonald's that has games and activities for kids. There were many sites had daily happy thoughts for readers. The how to be happy was for me the most interesting. The article cites simple, everyday things like smiling, being positive, surrounding yourself with family and good friends, find happiness in the present, and focusing on basic needs when it comes to finances. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the how to be happy. It teaches these basis principles. The ways to be happy- for the real, lasting happiness are found in and through Jesus Christ. They always have been and they always will. I know the way to truly be happy is to do things He would have me and live my life the way He wants to me to. I am happy. I am becoming the woman I know He would have me become. Happiness is a choice. Happiness doesn't mean everything is hunky dory, but it means choosing to see life they way He sees it. He strengthens and wraps peace around us. Lately, I am learning more and more about the peaceful, happy feelings in the heart and mind, even when some things are tough. I am choosing to continue to trust Him and follow Him for I know that His way is the way of happines. Masaya Ang Aking Puso :)

A New Semester Adventure

I'm excited for next semester! There are classes I'm not ready to be over- mostly my cooking class. Before the class started I thought about what I wanted to get out the class. If you know me well you know I love to eat and don't really care for the cooking part. That has changed! I now enjoy cooking! Baking I'm still working on. I have learned my things in this class and discovered the creativity I love about design is in cooking- recipe creations and presentation. Now I am really excited for all those dinner parties I will being hosting in the future. Next semester I will be having another adventure- Japanese! I am super excited for it! I will be taking Beginning Japanese starting in January. I know it will be challenging, but it will be awesome!

A Boast of Confidence. A Strength to Testimony.

True success in this life comes in consecrating our lives—that is, our time and choices—to God’s purposes (see John 17:1, 4; D&C 19:19). In so doing, we permit Him to raise us to our highest destiny.
