Randomness

This is at sunrise a couple of weeks ago. As I was driving to school this is part of the awesome sight! I pulled out my phone and snapped a quick picture. One of the advantages of 7:30 am classes is seeing the sunrise and how peaceful the mornings really are.
Here's a random picture of Kristina and I trying on the animal hats at Michael's. It doesn't seem to matter where we are we always find something random to try on and take a picture.
A couple of weeks ago I took some pictures of the leaves in my yard. This is one of them. I love the little touch of red scattered throughout the yellow-green.

Free From My Hair

Last Wednesday I cut my hair! Yes that's right cut not trim! I cut about 13 inches off. (I donated it to Locks of Love) I love the newness! I'm really enjoying having bangs and the ease of maintenance. I am grateful I did it! I really felt like it was time and so it was in a way easy. I knew earlier this year that turning 27 would be bring some awesome, faith building experiences. Cutting my hair is one of these awesome experiences! Masaya Ang Aking Puso :)

Preparing and Cooking Quail

A few weeks ago in my cooking class we prepared and cooked game birds-quail, Cornish hen, and duck. My team had quail. This is our result. I'll spare you the first steps of preparation, but let's just say I was brave. After those first few steps we rubbed the quail in olive oil and fresh herbs and stuffed them with a quarter of a lemon, we than put them in the oven.
They actually tasted quite good- not very gamy and the lemon had really absorbed into the meat. I tasted the duck it wasn't bad either. I enjoy trying new foods and am really loving this cooking class! I am getting out exactly what I want to from this class! I enjoy eating, but now I am really enjoying cooking!

Homemade Garden Pizza and Halloween

I love Halloween! This year I was a boxer. I have to admit I was inspired when I found these gloves in my basement and by Pacman (Manny Pacquiao). This is the back of my costume I have to admit I felt "tough" the whole night. ;)

Here's Kristina and I- ketchup and a boxer
Back in September- Kristina, Craig and I all made pizza with tomatoes, squash, and green peppers from the garden, fresh mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil. It was awesome! And to complete it- coke! (cherry, vanilla and lime)

Last week in my cooking class we made four different desserts with pumpkin we also craved pumpkins. This is a picture of mine.

Fall Is My Favorite

I love fall! I don't think I rave about a season as much as I rave about fall! I love it! I love eating squash, pumpkin, soups, apples from my tree, leaves, the crisp air, wearing boots, brown, jackets, and sweaters. There is oh so much to love about fall! I am falling for fall all over again this year. Masaya Ang Aking Puso :)

Days of 27: Conclusion

For my birthday I wanted to do something unique and fun for myself. It was my golden birthday this year so it had to be celebrated with extra style. I've never worn a flower for my birthday so this year I decided I would make myself a lei. So, the day before my birthday I went to the wholesaler and picked up some pretty hot pink carnations and made a lei. I wore it all day Friday to school, the grocery store, and of course at my party! I am glad I did it! It was a lot of fun and refreshing to wear fresh flowers all day! I definitely recommend it :) It was an awesome day filled with people I care about! Thanks for celebrating with me!

The birthday weekend was awesome awesome! The day of after my birthday I got to celebrate the happy wedding day of these two awesome peeps- Bailey and Scott. From temple sealing to luncheon to the reception. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to be a part of their day! I have learned over the last few years- that wedding days are days filled the Spirit and feeling God's love in greater abundance. This was one of those days. Thanks Bailey and Scott for giving me the opportunity to be with you on your wedding day. Masaya Ang Aking Puso :)

A Sparkly Fun Evening

The Monday before my birthday we went to Spark. It was a fun night of laughing, chatting, eating, and enjoying fun drinks. We also had fun teasing Craig about being the only guy that night and asking who he was going to give roses to at the end of the night.
Mary, Kristina, Craig, me, Britta, and Tessa (who is taking the picture)
This is what I had that night. Mac and Cheese it was awesome! But don't count all the unhealthy factors like the fried chicken on top and bacon in the dish. Wow! Hey it was part of the birthday celebrations so it was acceptable ;)
I'm sure you'll believe it or maybe you'll find it hard to believe but after we left Spark we went and got ice cream cones at Maceys. Days of 27 was full of awesomely delicious food! If you know me- you know that I am a foodie!
